COLE SWINDELL – Ain’t Worth The Whiskey

This song is from the album Cole Swindell(2014).
I loved the production and the message in the song. A heartbroken guy singing to his ex that she doesn’t matter to him anymore, that picture is not something that you get to see everyday. I applaud Cole for the lyrics and the performance. His voice proves the full emotion in the song and the rhythm with it’s crashing cymbals make it even more powerful.

[INTRO] A Em D A
[VERSE]
A
I don't care that you done me wrong
                      Em
'Cause I've already moved on
                       D
I don't care what his name is
                      A
Girl, it is what it is

        A
I won't waste a dime
          Em
Or the bartender's time
            D
Trying to catch a buzz
              A
Over the thought of us.

[CHORUS]
                      A
But I'll drink to a country song
                D
To another long work week gone
         F#m E D
And I'll raise my glass to a long lost buddy I ain't seen.
                   A
I might stay for one more round
             D
Or I might close this place down
            Bm D
But don't think for a second I'm out to drown your memory
D A
Baby, you ain't worth the whiskey.

[INSTRUMENTAL] A Em D A

[VERSE]
                          A
It don't matter what your friends say
                     Em
They never liked me anyway
                    D
So if they see me drunk in this bar
                    A
It ain't over a broken heart

[CHORUS]
                          A
'Cause I'm drinking to a country song.
                   D
To another long work week gone
         F#m E D
And I'm raising my glass to a long lost buddy I ain't seen.
                  A
I might stay for one more round
             D
Or I might close this place down
            Bm D
But don't think for a second I'm out to drown your memory
D A
Baby, you ain't worth the whiskey.

[INSTRUMENTAL] A G D A G D

[CHORUS]
                   A
Cheers to a good country song
                 D
To another long work week gone
                 F#m E D
And, yeah, I'm raising my glass to those savin' our ass overseas.
                  A
I might stay for one more round
                 D
Hell, I might close this place down
            Bm D
But don't think for a second I'm out to drown your memory
            Bm D
No, don't think for one second I'm out to drown your memory
D A Em D A
Girl, you ain't worth the whiskey, no.
A A Em D A
Baby, you ain't worth the whiskey.
