This song is from the album 25(2015), released on 20 November 2015.
Another phenomenal song from 25. The production felt amazing, especially the prechorus. The rhythm felt amazing, those tamobourines in the background and the shakers made the rhythm sound really smooth and beautiful. The background vocals added a layer of power and energy that really helped the song sound solid.

[INTRO] B C# Ebm Ab
[VERSE]
B C#
Everybody tells me it's 'bout time that I moved on
         Ebm C#
And I need to learn to lighten up and how to be young
     B C#
But my heart is a valley, it's so shallow and man made
      Ebm C#
I'm scared to death if I let you in that you'll see I'm just a fake
B C#
Sometimes I feel lonely in the arms of your touch
        Ebm C#
But I know that's just me cause nothing ever is enough
B C#
When I was a child I grew up by the River Lea
            Ebm C#
There was something in the water, now that something's in me
            B C# Ebm C#
Oh I can't go back, but the reeves are growing out of my fingertips
         B C# Ab
I can't go back to the river

[PRE-CHORUS]
                Ebm C#
But it's in my roots, it's in my veins
            C# Ebm C# Ab
It's in my blood and I stain every heart that I use to heal the pain
             Ebm C#
It's in my roots, it's in my veins
            C# Ebm C# Ab
It's in my blood and I stain every heart that I use to heal the pain

[CHORUS]
                       Ebm C#
So I blame it on the River Lea, the River Lea, the River Lea
Ebm C# Ab
Yeah I blame it on the River Lea, the River Lea, the River Lea

[VERSE]
B C#
I should probably tell you now before it's way too late
       Ebm C#
That I never meant to hurt you or lie straight to your face
B C#
Consider this my apology, I know it's years in advance
           Ebm C#
But I'd rather say it now in case I never get the chance
               B C# Ebm C#
No I can't go back, but the reeves are growing out of my fingertips
         B C# Ab
I can't go back to the river

[PRE-CHORUS]
                Ebm C#
But it's in my roots, it's in my veins
            C# Ebm C# Ab
It's in my blood and I stain every heart that I use to heal the pain
             Ebm C#
It's in my roots, it's in my veins
            C# Ebm C# Ab
It's in my blood and I stain every heart that I use to heal the pain

[CHORUS]
                       Ebm C#
So I blame it on the River Lea, the River Lea, the River Lea
Ebm C# Ab
Yeah I blame it on the River Lea, the River Lea, the River Lea
                       Ebm C#
So I blame it on the River Lea, the River Lea, the River Lea
Ebm C# Ab
