This song is from the album Montevallo(2014), released on 27 October 2014.
I always love the way that Sam sings the verses. It feels like he is talking and then suddenly a tune comes in. I love that style. The way that the production of this song is done is also really interesting. The guitars and the drums felt really large and powerful.

[INTRO] Fm
[VERSE]
Ab
I knew I'd see her around
Ab Fm
I'd be at some party, she'd show up and I'd be walking out
Fm Eb
Or across some parking lot hiding behind her sister
Ab
I'd look up, she'd be at the red light beside me
Ab
In that white Maxima with the sticker on the back
Ab
I'd act like I didn't see her
Fm
We'd pay at the same pumps
Fm
Flip through the same stations
Fm
And slow down for the same curves
C#
Run around with the same crowds
C#
We just needed some time
C#
She could get on with her life and I'd get on with mine
Ebsus4
Thought I would be fine, heh, but maybe not
Ebsus4
I knew she'd find a way to get over me
Ebsus4
But I'd never thought that...
[CHORUS]
Fm C#
She would get down with somebody I know
Eb
I guess that's just how it goes
Ab
When you break up in a small town
Abmaj7 Fm C#
I see our friends and they put on a show
Eb
Like they don't want me to know
Ab Abmaj7
So they give me the go-around
C# Ab
But there's only so many streets, so many lights
Eb Ab Abmaj7 Fm
I swear it's like I can't even leave my house
C#
I should've known all along
Eb
You gotta move or move on
Eb
When you break up in a small town
[VERSE]
Ab
For a while I guess they were keeping it low-key
Ab Fm
But now it's like these county lines closing in on me
Fm
I see 'em everywhere together
Fm
And it's hitting a little too close to home
C#
She's so far gone, she just didn't go far
C#
She was over me before the grass grew back
C#
Where she used to park her car
Eb
She's leaving those same marks in someone else's yard
Eb
In someone else's arms right down the road
Eb
And I never thought that...
[CHORUS]
Fm C#
She would get down with somebody I know
